What I want to Know

Andy, since apparently you're jacked into the Republican Mind Control Network, maybe you can answer these for me.

1. Why were inspections stopped when the chief U.N. Weapons inspector said he needed more time? The Administration says that inspections weren't working - but the inspectors themselves disagree.

2. Why won't Dick Cheney release the files from his Energy Task Force? Don't average Americans have a right to know how the administration is planning to deal with our long-term energy problems? Don't we have a right to know how those decisions are made? Isn't transparency necessary to a Democracy?

3. What the fuck is up with all these dicks who suddenly hate the French? I mean, seriously, it's not like they're our puppets or anything. Don't they have a right to disagree with us?

4. Why were the recommendations from the Hart-Rudman committee ignored before September 11? Why aren't they being listened to now?

5. Why did the administration stall the creation of the 9-11 commission for over a year?

6. Have Bush's tax cuts been effective in helping the economy? Did Bill Clinton's tax raise in 1993 hurt the economy?

That's all for now. More later if these questions can be answered.

Note: this is a much more polite and comprehensive revision of a screed I wrote last night after a long, strange trip with Lou.
